Right, you've decided (as much as I would like to say) to brew your own beer. What are the basic equipment you need? As in many processes the equipment can be varied, and that complicated. But not with you at the beginning really need much in the way of equipment.
The first thing is to purchase a large container (mashing vessel). This can be as small as a large soup pot, or as large as you comfortably handle. To preserve a large frying pan or pot is good. Try a used catering provider, you willa good deal. At the same time find, though not essential at this stage if they have a free-standing gas-ring which you can use with bottled gas. That means you can brew in the courtyard or in the garage.
Believe me, your partner a lot more mistakes if you are underfoot in the kitchen and the smell (although I love it) can be a bit getting used to. Another advantage of using natural gas is the moment controllability of the temperature. Electricity can be a bit hit andto miss as it immediately. Unless you have a halogen hob. But you would not really be in the kitchen, if you have no other choice.
They are also going to need a thermometer, the temperature is fairly critical in the brewing process. Here too, you put your brewing supply store, and you will find a wide variation, but I would go for a minimum of 12 inches in length, or even larger, if you can. Especially if you bought a big mash vessel. They are easier to read anyway. ByWay, a replacement thermometer is always useful. They can be broken and deleted!
You will receive a need for the brewing vats, the yeast was added. There should be a decent lid and handles for lifting. Garbage When I started, I have a plastic bin (bin) from my local hardware store. It was bright yellow and I thought it would be cool. It was only later I discovered that the yellow color was due to the use of the heavy metal cadmium, very toxic to humans. This would leach cadmiumin the broth by the action of the process. Well, I have with that one (I think). But the lesson here is only use containers that are guaranteed to Brau-friendly. I would be sold for five gallons containers of plastic from a well known brewers supply store.
A length of plastic pipe about half a centimeter in diameter and about a meter, or would be so long in order to absorb the broth and when you are ready, what have yopu decided in containers to use. Probably a plastic barrel or bottle. Ideallythe pipe should not be a glass tube equipped (with a trap like a sink u bend) to create, to see if sedimentary suction siphon. These are provided fairly cheaply from the brewing services.
All bottles are used, should be in good condition and free from any defects. If you screw all the bottles, the better. It goes without saying that it should be scrupulously clean.
OK That's it. That's really all the basic equipment you need. Of course there are other things that ICall option, can make that job a little easier, and I'll cover this in another article. But if you're working with a budget you can start with just this article. Just go for it, and good luck.
